Giving Back to Sekolah Kami Through Our Pledge 1% Commitment

At Velox Themes, we believe a business should do more than make money. It should also give back. That is why we donate 1% of our monthly profit to important causes through our Pledge 1% commitment.

We know that 1% may sound small, but when many people take part, a small action can grow into something meaningful. On August 22, we had the chance to see that impact in person.

A Special Day at Sekolah Kami

We teamed up with friends and fellow business owners to hold a small event at Sekolah Kami. Sekolah Kami provides free education to children from families in need. The school gives its students a safe place to learn, grow, and prepare for their future.

Their work is not easy. Helping children through education takes a lot of time, care, and effort. It is something that cannot be done in just one day.

We knew our small event would not have the same impact as the work the school does every day, but we still wanted to help in a way we could. So, we came with one simple goal: we wanted to inspire the students to dream big.

Starting With One Small Step

Dreaming is easier when you can see many paths ahead of you, but for some children, those paths may feel far away. They may not always have access to the same support, tools, or opportunities as others. We wanted to remind them that their dreams still matter.

During the event, we talked about dreams and the future. We encouraged the students to think about what they would like to become one day. The goal was not to give them all the answers. It was to help them ask one simple question: “What could my future look like?”

We hoped the session could open their minds to new ideas and help them believe that bigger dreams are possible. It was only a small lesson, but sometimes a small idea can stay with someone for a long time. It can become the first step toward something much bigger.

We Came to Inspire, but They Inspired Us

One of the most special parts of the day was seeing the students perform. They shared a beautiful angklung and kolintang performance with us. We could see the time, teamwork, and confidence they had put into it. Watching them play together was a moment we will remember for a long time.

We came to Sekolah Kami hoping to give the students something meaningful, but by the end of the event, they had also given something meaningful to us.

They reminded us how much talent and potential can exist in every child when they are given a place to learn and grow. They also reminded us to be more grateful.

An Eye Opening Experience

The event was an eye opening experience for our team. In our daily lives, it is easy to focus on work, goals, problems, and what we want to achieve next. Sometimes, we forget to stop and appreciate what we already have.

This day gave us that reminder. We felt grateful for the education we received, the people who supported us, and the opportunities that helped us reach where we are today.

Not everyone begins life with the same opportunities. That is why the work done by schools like Sekolah Kami matters so much. They do more than teach lessons. They help children see more possibilities for their future.

We Know This Is Only the Beginning

We also learned that making a real impact takes time. One event cannot solve every problem, and one short lesson cannot replace years of education and support.

We understand that.

Our contribution may have been small compared to what Sekolah Kami gives its students every day, but we believe doing something is still better than doing nothing. This event was one small step, and we hope it will not be our last.

As Velox Themes grows, we want our positive impact to grow with it. We hope to support more causes, create more meaningful events, and help more people in the future. We may not be able to change everything at once, but we can keep showing up, learning, and finding ways to give back.
